Do Now: Review last week's blog assignments on best practices for project types
Classwork:
- Continue writing your 1500 word final NHD paper, due WED DEC 4
- Peer share and peer edits of papers- swap with a classmate, read each other's papers, and give feedback
- Begin NHD Website (alternate projects, everyone but paper, performance, and documentary). Go to http://nhd.weebly.com and SIGN UP or LOG IN. Begin creating pages on the 5 stages.
- Continue working on annotating your bibliography. REMEMBER: An annotation has
- Summary of the article/document/chapter/etc
- Who wrote/published, when and where published, other info for citation
- Author/publisher qualifications for writing (non-biased? expert?)
- How it fits into your research (origin, development, etc- what you learned from it)
Clarification on Footnotes:
Citing online sources
Generally, follow the same principals of footnotes to cite online sources. Refer to the author if possible and include the URL.
18. Henry James, The Ambassadors (Rockville: Serenity: 2009), http://books.google.com.
19. Bhakti Satalkar, “Water Aerobics,” http://www.buzzle.com, (July 15, 2010).
Citing online sources with no author19. Bhakti Satalkar, “Water Aerobics,” http://www.buzzle.com, (July 15, 2010).
If there is no author, use either the article or website title to begin the citation. Be sure to use quotes for article titles and include the URL.
20. “Bad Strategy: At E3, Microsoft and Sony Put Nintendo on the Defense,” BNET, www.cbsnews.com/moneywatch, (June 14, 2010)
Homework: Email final paper to mirandagt2013@gmail.com AND goldfrancine205@gmail.com by 11:59pm on WED DEC 4, prepare 2 min pitch by MON DEC 9, and begin NHD project building (progress check) by FRI DEC 6
